Giant
Mishen, also known as Giant, is an Innu man that decided to walk every winter across Nitassinan, the Innu land.

What started out as one young Innu man's dream has inspired his fellow young Innu to walk hundreds of kilometres to gain recognition of their people's epidemic loss of hope for their well-being.

Giant was inspired by his grandparents' and ancestors' endless walks on their land to look for the wild foods upon which they depended for millenniums. His people were healthy and active despite times of starvation when the caribou did not come to their usual migration routes. Their people persevered and continued to follow the knowledge of survival. This was a healthy lifestyle. Times were hard, but the Innu lived longer.

Today, many youth are following a dream to help themselves and their people.

Through this walk across the country of their ancestors, they are striving for a better life.

As they walk, wonderful friendships are evolving among them and their encouragement to each other has grown. People from the communities are so proud, as they embrace the strength of these youth who have embarked on a journey of love, healing, and caring for themselves and their people.
